For those of you nursing a post-Burns Night hangover today, you’ll be chuffed to hear that top Scottish singer-songwriter Eddi Reader has announced she’ll be coming to Rescue Rooms! 🏴
After starting out with successful punk outfit Gang of Four, and then harmonizing with Annie Lennox while touring with the Eurythmics, Eddi stole the limelight as part of much-loved band Fairground Attraction. Moving forward, her solo material has seen her take on a variety of musical styles and make them all her own. In 2001 she left London to return home to Glasgow, where she recorded the classic Songs Of Robert Burns album, released to international acclaim in 2003. More solo success followed, along with movie appearances, Brit Awards and an MBE for services to singing.
So, let’s be honest, she’s British music royalty, isn’t she 👸👸
